What this means for your family

While recent reviews suggest a positive shift under new leadership and high praise for the activities and dietary teams, the facility has a documented history of inconsistent response times to call lights. We strongly recommend that you visit during a weekend or evening shift to observe staffing levels firsthand and ask specifically about their communication protocols for medical updates.

Key Review Excerpts

Mom had an awful expereince with Thrive in Lisle and we moved her to Renwick Nursing and Rehab. What a difference! Staff is kind and talented. They are attentive to our mom and truly care.

Long-term resident's family · 2025★★★★★

I found out my client sat in her own urine after having the call light on for TWO HOURS because she can’t use the bathroom herself. I understand being under staffed.. but two hours sitting in urine when disabled is horrible.

Caregiver · 2024☆☆☆☆

Since new management has started there’s been a huge improvement. Jamarr, Cortney, and Ashley are amazing and very dedicated. You can truly tell they care. The food is amazing and the dietary manager Michelle takes pride in her work.

Renwick Nursing and Rehab has received numerous family complaints (24 out of 82 deficiencies), particularly regarding accident prevention and safe, clean living environments that persist across surveys into 2025-2026. The facility has ongoing problems with accident hazard prevention, medication management, and maintaining proper living conditions. While most issues have correction plans, the pattern of repeated violations in critical safety areas and the high volume of family-filed complaints suggest significant care quality concerns that families should carefully investigate.
