About EveryPlace

Our Mission

Finding the right care facility for a loved one is one of the most important — and stressful — decisions a family can make. Most online tools are referral services that only show facilities paying for placement. EveryPlace is different.

We cover over 22,000 facilities across all 50 states — nursing homes, assisted living, memory care, and more — with the same depth of data, regardless of whether they pay us. Because no one does.

Why EveryPlace Exists

The senior care industry is dominated by referral services that charge facilities thousands of dollars per placement. That means families only see the facilities that can afford to pay — not necessarily the ones that provide the best care.

Meanwhile, the federal government already collects an extraordinary amount of data on every Medicare-certified facility: inspection results, staffing levels, quality measures, penalty history, ownership chains, and more. But this data is buried across dozens of spreadsheets and government websites, making it nearly impossible for families to use effectively.

EveryPlace brings all of that data together in one place — organized, searchable, and presented in a way that helps families make informed decisions without hidden agendas.

What We Are Not

EveryPlace is not a referral service. We do not accept placement fees, advertising, or pay-for-ranking from any facility. We do not sell your personal information. Our rankings are based entirely on publicly available government data.

We are also not a healthcare provider or advisor. The information on EveryPlace is for research and comparison purposes. We strongly encourage families to visit facilities in person, talk to current residents and their families, and consult with healthcare professionals before making a decision.

Our Data

We combine multiple public data sources to build the most complete picture of each facility:

Medicare nursing home data

For nursing homes, we use data from the Medicare Care Compare:

• Overall quality star ratings (1–5 stars)
• Health inspection results
• Staffing levels (RN hours, total nurse hours)
• Quality measure scores
• Penalty and fine history
• Ownership and chain affiliation data

State Licensing Data

For assisted living and memory care, we pull inspection records directly from state licensing agencies including California CCLD, Washington DSHS, Iowa DIAL, Colorado CDPHE, and more — with individual deficiency details and report links.

Google reviews and summaries

We summarize over 1 million Google reviews across 20,000+ facilities to show recurring strengths, concerns, rating trends, review excerpts, owner response patterns, and suggested tour questions.

How Ratings Work

The star ratings you see on EveryPlace come directly from Medicare. The overall rating combines three components: health inspections, staffing, and quality measures. We do not create our own rating system — we present the government's ratings alongside the underlying data so families can make informed decisions.

We also add local comparison context so you can see how a facility compares with others in the same state.
