What this means for your family

While the independent living campus is beautiful and well-regarded, families should exercise caution regarding the rehabilitation and nursing care units. Multiple reviewers have raised serious concerns about staffing levels and emergency response times; we strongly recommend asking for specific, written protocols regarding how the facility handles medical emergencies and staffing ratios during off-hours.

Questions for Your Tour

  • 1I noticed your campus has beautiful park-like grounds; what are some of the most popular social activities or events that residents participate in outdoors?
  • 2Given the importance of timely assistance, could you walk me through the typical process and response time for a resident using their emergency call button?
  • 3I see that your administration is very active in responding to feedback online; how do you typically handle family concerns or communication regarding a resident's daily care?
  • 4With the high staffing rating in some areas but potential challenges in rehab, how do you ensure consistent nursing support and medication management for residents throughout the day?
  • 5Since you have a strong reputation for independent living transitions, how do you support residents who may need to move between different levels of care within the facility?
  • 6Regarding the recent health inspection findings, what specific steps has the facility taken to address those areas and improve your overall care processes?

Key Review Excerpts

I had to pull it for an emergency where I was unable to get to the phone for 15 minutes and once I was, it took two calls to the front desk and the paramedics arriving at the building for the security guard to finally show up in response to the pull cord, around 40 minutes after I had pulled the cord for help.

Independent living resident · 2021☆☆☆☆

I do not recommend Covenant Living for rehabilitation. A family member went there recently; they are understaffed and weren’t equipped to meet her needs. The people I interacted with, on behalf of her, were more businesslike than compassionate about people and healthcare.

Rehab patient's family · 2025☆☆☆☆

The care teams in all 3 areas know what they are doing, are open to suggestions, and are helping make each move run seamlessly.

Families have filed complaint reports about this facility, with deficiencies found in abuse prevention and response protocols across multiple surveys. The most recurring issues involve fire safety systems, resident care quality (including daily living assistance and medical care), and infection control practices. While all deficiencies show correction dates, the pattern of repeated fire safety violations and complaint-triggered investigations regarding abuse protection suggest families should carefully evaluate the facility's oversight and safety measures during visits.
