What this means for your family

While many families report excellent experiences with the facility's therapy and activity programs, there is a recurring pattern of neglect regarding call light response times and basic hygiene. We strongly recommend that you visit during off-hours or weekends to observe staffing levels and ask management specifically how they ensure consistent care for residents who are unable to advocate for themselves.

Warren Barr Buffalo Grove receives highly polarized feedback, with many families praising the compassionate nursing staff, clean facility, and effective rehabilitation programs. However, a significant number of reviewers report serious concerns regarding understaffing, slow response times for call lights, and lapses in basic hygiene and medical care for vulnerable residents. Families should be aware that experiences appear to vary greatly depending on the specific unit and staffing levels at the time of stay.

Key Review Excerpts

The patient to CNA or nurse ratio is off balance. Call lights are not attended to. My loved one needs help with transitions and bed transfers. I've had the unfortunate task to have to dial the nurse's station myself for the resident (my family member) for help on their behalf.

Long-term resident's family · 2024★★☆☆☆

My mom ended up in the hospital twice within 3 month of staying here. She had 2 bedsores, also she had severe dehydration, a UTI, and high sodium levels. If they couldn't care for her properly then they probably shouldn't have accepted her as a resident.

Long-term resident's family · 2024☆☆☆☆

The physical deterioration of this rehab facility from then until now is beyond shocking and had I know about its condition, I would have never ever allowed my husband there.
