What this means for your family

This facility features a highly regarded rehabilitation team and many staff members who are praised for their compassion. However, families should be aware of recurring reports regarding slow response times and inconsistent hygiene care. We strongly recommend visiting during off-hours to observe staffing levels and asking management directly about their protocols for call-light response and medication oversight.

Royal Oak Nursing & Rehab Center receives highly polarized feedback, with many reviewers praising the therapy department and staff kindness while others report severe lapses in medical care and hygiene. Potential families should carefully weigh the strong rehabilitation outcomes against the significant concerns regarding consistent staffing and basic patient care.

Key Review Excerpts

The staff there are truly amazing from administration to nurses, rehab, housekeeping, maintenance and laundry staff we're always very professional, kind, compasionate, helpful and caring.

Rehab patient · 2024★★★★★

My 94 year Mom was here for 1 month due to a broken ankle. The care was subpar at best. They did not bathe her for the first 12 days of her stay but gave her wipes to wash herself. They left her in a soiled brief over night.

Long-term resident's family · 2025☆☆☆☆

I stayed here for 3 months. I would rate it iffy. Some of the aids were great but some were not so great. I was frustrated more than once trying to get changed.
