What this means for your family

While the activities department is well-regarded, the facility has a history of serious complaints regarding hygiene, medical neglect, and communication failures. We strongly advise visiting unannounced and speaking directly with current residents' families to verify the quality of care, as the high volume of positive reviews from 2022 appears to be heavily influenced by staff.

Google Reviews

Google Reviews

89 reviews on Google
Pavilion of South Shore receives highly polarized feedback, with a significant number of reviews expressing severe concerns regarding neglect, poor communication, and unsanitary conditions. While some reviewers, particularly those identifying as staff or family of long-term residents, praise the facility's atmosphere and team, many families report critical failures in medical oversight and basic care. Prospective families should be aware of the stark contrast between the facility's promotional materials and the experiences reported by multiple visitors.

Key Review Excerpts

Myither contracted Covid there and our family was never contacted to inform us. I was told by a surly male nurse that my mother had a slight cold. She also had a stroke the same time and was unable to speak.

Memory care family member · 2021☆☆☆☆

My mom relapse in this place with someone giving her alcohol. She also was fed a peanut butter sandwich for dinner at 9pm at night. I had to come up there to feed her some proper food.

Long-term resident's family · 2024☆☆☆☆

The facility is way too small, there is an unpleasant odor, and there are bugs! They also run out of diapers and wipes for the residents.
