What this means for your family

While the rehabilitation therapy team is frequently praised for helping patients regain mobility, the facility faces serious, recurring reports of severe understaffing and neglect. If you choose this facility, ensure you have a plan for frequent, in-person visits to monitor your loved one's care and medication management, as communication from the nursing staff can be inconsistent.

Manhattanville Health Care Center receives highly polarized feedback, with families often divided between praising the rehabilitation therapy team and reporting severe neglect. While many reviewers highlight successful physical therapy outcomes and individual staff members who are caring, a significant number of reports describe dangerous understaffing, poor hygiene, and lack of communication regarding patient health and safety. Families should be aware that while some find the facility adequate for short-term rehab, others have raised critical concerns regarding patient neglect and professional conduct.

Key Review Excerpts

My 88 year old uncle just recently was there for rehab. They did a great job getting him walking again... The staff at Manhattanville was friendly and seemed compassionate.

Long-term resident's family · 2024★★★★

Upon arrival, the room had not been cleaned after the previous resident. The nurse was attentive and cleaned most of it right away when I asked. I then found out that there is only one nurse per floor, so one nurse to care for 40 or 50 residents.

Family member · 2024☆☆☆☆

My dad was here for Rehab. Rehab department was nice and made sure to get him for his therapy at a timely manner. Activity director needs to be replaced, she thinks she is the queen of the facility.
