What this means for your family

Hillcrest Raleigh has a very welcoming atmosphere and a strong therapy team, making it a popular choice for short-term rehab. However, because of the serious, recurring reports of nursing neglect and hygiene issues, we strongly advise families to visit frequently and monitor their loved one's care personally, especially during weekends and evenings.

Hillcrest Raleigh at Crabtree Valley receives polarized feedback, with many families praising the clean facility, welcoming front-desk staff, and effective physical therapy programs. However, a significant minority of reviewers report serious concerns regarding inconsistent nursing care, hygiene issues, and poor communication during medical emergencies. Families should carefully weigh the positive reports of staff attentiveness against the recurring complaints about neglect and administrative responsiveness.

Key Review Excerpts

The staff is very caring and responds to my father’s needs. I highly recommend Hillcrest Raleigh!

Long-term resident's family · 2025☆☆☆☆

My mother was in this facility for a while after she broke some bones in a fall. Beware if your elderly loved one has dementia and ends up here. I witnessed abuse of a resident by a staff member... I witnessed neglect.

Memory care family member · 2024☆☆☆☆

The facility was very clean & odor free, the staff was friendly, overall I had a really nice visit!

Families have filed complaints triggering inspections, including one safety issue that remains unresolved. The facility shows recurring problems with fire safety systems, resident assessment processes, and medication management across multiple surveys. While most deficiencies have correction dates, the pattern of repeated violations in critical safety areas like emergency exits and the outstanding safety complaint warrant careful consideration during your visit.
