What this means for your family

While Anchor Lodge offers a beautiful setting and a well-regarded therapy team, the recurring reports of neglect and slow response times are significant red flags. If you are considering this facility, we strongly recommend unannounced visits, specifically during weekends or evenings, to observe staffing levels and response times firsthand.

Anchor Lodge Nursing Home receives highly polarized feedback, with many reviewers praising the beautiful lakefront location, clean facilities, and friendly staff. However, a significant number of families report serious concerns regarding neglect, slow response times to call buttons, missing personal items, and inconsistent quality of medical care. Potential families should be aware of the stark contrast between the positive aesthetic experience and the critical reports of understaffing and poor communication.

Key Review Excerpts

My dad was at Anchor lodge for 18 days. He only became more and more frustrated the whole time he was there. Physical therapy didn't help him what so ever ever. He fell at least 6 times that I know of.

Rehab patient's family · 2025☆☆☆☆

My grandma passed away yesterday and I was there everyday and some nights to be with her this past week or so. All the nurses and caregivers were amazing, always checking in on her and us.

Long-term resident's family · 2023★★★★★

My mentally retarded brother was sent here from Cleveland clinic rehab facility for his next step of healing for broken leg, ankle etc. I had to get him to another facility after only 24 hours. This place should be shut down.
