What this means for your family

This facility offers a beautiful environment and excellent activity programming that many residents enjoy. However, families of potential memory care residents should be cautious; ensure you have a direct line to the nursing director and ask specific questions about how they handle non-compliance with hygiene and daily care tasks to ensure your loved one's needs are met.

American House Hampton Village is a visually appealing, modern facility that many families praise for its cleanliness, engaging activities, and friendly staff. However, there is a recurring pattern of concern regarding the quality of care in the memory care unit, specifically regarding hygiene assistance and a perceived lack of proactive strategies for residents with dementia. While many families report a positive, family-like atmosphere, others have expressed significant frustration with management responsiveness and staff turnover during leadership transitions.

Key Review Excerpts

The staff stated they cannot force them, which is true but there are tools to encourage her.

Memory care family member · 2022★★☆☆☆

Dee (head nurse) is beyond fantastic and answers calls/texts regardless of time or day. She follows up on any request and cares for the residents.

Long-term resident's family · 2025★★★★

The majority of them are vested in the residents and really care for them. BUT now that this facility changed over from Anthology to American House the leadership team is very disappointing. You are never able to speak with anyone nor do they return calls.
