What this means for your family

Cokesbury Village offers a beautiful, high-quality environment for independent living with a strong sense of community. However, families should be aware of recent reports regarding inconsistent medical oversight and rigid dining policies; we recommend staying highly involved in the care planning process if your loved one transitions to the nursing unit.

Key Review Excerpts

We chose life care at Cokesbury Village after many visits and much research. We enjoy the warmth of this community and the security of knowing our aging challenges will be met here with the same kindness and quality of service we have experienced in independent living.

Long-term resident · 2022★★★★★

I am distressed by the initial care of my family member in the care unit when she went in with back pain. At 100, extra good and prompt care is necessary. Not giving her her blood pressure medication for over 24 hours resulted in a blood pressure spike that could have caused a stroke.

Family member · 2020☆☆☆☆

Dining room situation doesn't foster sociability because you have to make a reservation (you used to be able to walk in and see someone and join their table). Maintenance schedule is inconsistent. Onsite medical is handy but not thorough - have a backup.

4deficiencies
Well below state avg (13.5)

Willowbrooke Court shows a pattern of deficiencies primarily in infection control and food safety, with issues recurring across multiple surveys - infection control problems appeared in both 2024 and 2025 inspections, and food handling violations were cited in consecutive years. All 11 deficiencies across three surveys have been corrected by the facility, though the recurring nature of infection control and dietary issues suggests ongoing operational challenges families should discuss during visits.
