What this means for your family

While the facility presents well during tours and has an active social calendar, there is a persistent pattern of negative reports regarding basic hygiene and responsiveness to call lights. We strongly advise you to visit the facility unannounced, specifically asking to see the upper floors, and to speak with current residents' families about their day-to-day experience rather than relying solely on the admissions team.

Google Reviews

Google Reviews

61 reviews on Google
The Waters of Castleton receives highly polarized feedback, with a significant number of recent five-star reviews praising the admissions staff and general atmosphere, contrasted by serious allegations of neglect from family members. While some visitors report a clean, welcoming environment with attentive care, others describe critical issues including unaddressed call lights, poor hygiene, and lack of communication regarding medical care. Families considering this facility should conduct thorough, unannounced visits, specifically requesting to see upper floors and patient care areas.

Key Review Excerpts

I encourage families to do their research and due diligence before moving a loved one into this facility. My loved one endured so much neglect during their stay. Feces on the bed when visited.

Long-term resident's family · 2023☆☆☆☆

The staff is horrible, there is no clear communication, staff is lazy and unprofessional, often there is no clean linen, no help, call lights go unanswered for up to an hour, the up stairs smell awful.

Family member · 2025☆☆☆☆

The staff here took wonderful care of my mother before her passing. The environment is always fun and upbeat, with beautiful decorations and activities. The DON and ADON were always very supportive.
