What this means for your family

While the rehabilitation therapy team is highly regarded for their effectiveness, the long-term care unit faces serious allegations regarding hygiene, patient safety, and understaffing. If you are considering this facility, we strongly recommend conducting an unannounced visit to observe the long-term care environment and asking management specifically about their protocol for reporting falls and medical incidents to families.

The Valley View Center for Nursing Care and Rehab presents a stark contrast between its rehabilitation services and its long-term care unit. While many patients praise the physical and occupational therapy teams for their effectiveness and compassion, families of long-term residents report severe issues regarding hygiene, patient safety, and a lack of transparency regarding medical incidents. Potential families should be aware of significant concerns regarding staffing levels, facility cleanliness, and the quality of daily care provided to permanent residents.

Key Review Excerpts

The PT and the OT really made a difference and she was stronger when she left. Also the food was good too. Some meals were even homemade

Rehab patient's family · 2025★★★★★

Once they wake the patients up, they bring them to the common/eating room for a simple breakfast. Then they wheel them into the hallway so they can sit and stare at each other and the walls for a couple hours

Long-term resident's family · 2026☆☆☆☆

They leave people sitting in their pee. They dont bath patients on a regular basis patients are afraid to complain because they would be treated worse.

This facility shows a concerning pattern of repeated safety violations and families have filed multiple complaint reports that triggered federal investigations. The most persistent issues involve fire safety and smoke protection systems, nursing staffing problems, and accident prevention, with many of these same problems recurring across multiple years despite reported corrections. While all deficiencies list correction dates, the pattern of recurring violations in critical safety areas warrants careful consideration before placement.
