What this means for your family

While Sterling Village offers a clean environment and effective physical therapy, the frequency of reports regarding neglect and poor communication is a major red flag. If you are considering this facility, we strongly recommend unannounced visits during weekends and evenings to observe staffing levels and response times for yourself.

Sterling Village presents a starkly polarized experience for families, with some praising its clean, modern environment and effective physical therapy, while others report severe neglect and unprofessional conduct. While some families feel their loved ones are treated with dignity, multiple reviewers have raised alarming concerns regarding hygiene, slow response times, and poor communication from staff. Key Review Excerpts

The beautifully decorated Christmas tree in the sparkling clean lobby provided an excellent first impression. If only the patients were tended to as well. Our family member's two week stay for short term rehab was characterized by the following. Confusion about specific diagnosis. Inconsistent medication administration. She was left for a full day in a bed she had soiled.

Short-term rehab family member · 2020☆☆☆☆

Physical therapy is top notch ... hands down. Most of the nurses are exceptional. CNAs, too, are mostly great ... all are seriously overworked. Number of CNAs per shift needs to be increased.

Rehab patient · 2020★★★★★

Mom, who was 92 when she passed, was cared for at Sterling Village for nearly two years and during that time her basic needs were not met to our satisfaction. Over the course of our quarterly meetings we always expressed our concerns but were met with the same response-retraining of staff.

Sterling Village shows a pattern of recurring deficiencies across multiple care areas, with families filing two complaint reports about resident notification and medical records issues. The facility has ongoing problems with fire safety, infection control, medication management, and resident assessment that persist across surveys from 2020 to 2024. While all deficiencies show correction dates, the repeated violations in critical areas like safety and medication errors suggest potential quality concerns families should investigate further during visits.
