What this means for your family

St. Johnland's rehab therapy team is frequently praised for helping patients regain mobility, making it a potential option for short-term recovery. However, the facility has a consistent history of complaints regarding understaffing and slow response times; we strongly recommend visiting in person during off-hours to observe staff availability and asking specifically about their fall-prevention protocols.

Key Review Excerpts

My mother arrived at this place weak in need of rehab and a healing environment post uti and sepsis. 4 days after admission she was found on the floor “unwitnessed fall” the nsg supervisor said well this is not a one to one facility.

Long-term resident's family · 2024☆☆☆☆

The social director John Mackay and the notary Maria Lizzo were very helpful allowing us to get the proper paperwork signed to support our brother. The nurses Katelyn and Dianna were great. The food could be improved though and the cleanliness of the rooms as well.

Long-term resident's family · 2024★★★★

My 100 year old aunt was discharged from the hospital after recovering from double pneumonia. She was very weak and could no longer walk or get out of a chair on her own. She couldn’t eat on her own. They took wonderful care of her. A big shoutout to the Nurses, the Aids and especially the folks in Rehab especially Edwin.

Families have filed multiple complaints triggering inspections, revealing concerning patterns in resident protection from abuse and neglect that occurred twice across different surveys. The facility shows recurring issues with nursing staffing levels, care planning, accident prevention, and infection control. While all deficiencies have correction dates, the repeated nature of abuse protection violations and the volume of family-initiated complaints suggest persistent quality-of-care challenges that warrant careful consideration.
