What this means for your family

This facility has a highly regarded therapy team and an admissions department that many families find supportive and professional. However, the recurring reports of neglect and slow response times are critical red flags; if you choose this facility, ensure you have a plan for frequent, unannounced visits to monitor your loved one's hygiene and medical status.

St. Andrews Bay Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation receives highly polarized feedback, with many families praising the admissions and therapy teams for their compassion and effectiveness, while others report severe concerns regarding neglect, hygiene, and understaffing. While some residents experience life-changing rehabilitation and feel like family, multiple accounts of medical complications, such as sepsis and malnutrition, suggest significant inconsistencies in clinical oversight and daily care standards.

Key Review Excerpts

My husband stayed here for 2 months. In a time where I was in complete crisis and had no clue what to do, the staff at this facility quickly put my mind at ease. The love and care shown to not just my husband but my entire family was intact the love each and every human being should receive.

Long-term resident's family · 2024★★★★★

My father David Taylor came to this facility a little over a year ago due to a tbi. (Traumatic brain injury) Every time we would come see him he would look awful. Some of the nurses were sweet but they didn’t care. Now my father is in the hospital because he is going septic because of an infection they did not take care of.

Long-term resident's family · 2024☆☆☆☆

The staff is overworked. The patient ratio is unsafe but the staff does what they can for the patients. As far as answering their phones or returning phones calls is hit or miss.
