What this means for your family

Spring Grove offers an excellent environment for social engagement and dining, but the reports of neglect and slow response times are concerning. If you choose this facility, ensure you have a plan to visit frequently to monitor your loved one's hygiene and medical care, and explicitly ask management how they address staffing shortages on weekends and night shifts.

Spring Grove Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center receives polarized feedback, with many families praising the clean, resort-like environment and the dedicated efforts of the Life Enrichment and food service teams. However, a significant number of reviewers report serious concerns regarding understaffing, particularly on night shifts, and instances of neglect where residents were left unassisted for extended periods. While some families highlight successful rehab outcomes, others describe distressing experiences with poor communication and inadequate medical attention.

Key Review Excerpts

The facility is clean, the food is good, most of all, the care is excellent. The nurses and CNAs care. The DON and Administrator are always available and are very compassionate.

Friend of a resident · 2025★★★★★

The aides and nurses would turn off the call light and walk out of the room without talking to the patient. When the light was put back on, several different workers told the resident and their family we 'weren't allowed' to turn the call light back on.

Family member · 2024☆☆☆☆

The lack of medical attention is appalling! I implore those interested in this place to take heed of the negative reviews. Looks are absolutely deceiving here.

Families filed multiple complaints about treatment care, daily living assistance, and safety concerns, with issues persisting across recent surveys. The facility shows recurring problems with quality of care, resident rights, medication management, and accident prevention. While all deficiencies report correction dates, the pattern of repeated violations in core care areas and ongoing family complaints suggests potential ongoing quality concerns that warrant careful evaluation during visits.
