What this means for your family

Rice Estate offers a beautiful, clean environment and excellent therapy services, which many families find beneficial for recovery. However, the recurring reports of slow response times and inconsistent care for residents needing high-level assistance are critical. We strongly recommend visiting during off-hours and asking management specifically how they ensure timely response to call buttons and medication administration for high-acuity residents.

Rice Estate Rehabilitation and Healthcare receives polarized feedback, with many families praising the facility's cleanliness, modern aesthetic, and the dedication of specific staff members. However, a significant number of reviewers report serious concerns regarding neglect, slow response times to call buttons, and inconsistent quality of nursing care for residents who require high levels of assistance. Families considering this facility should be aware that experiences appear to vary greatly depending on the specific care needs of the resident and the assigned staff.

Key Review Excerpts

The place is nice and well kept, but the care to the my brother has been awful at best. He medications weren't available until after 8pm on 7/9. Even then only part of his medications were available.

Rehab patient's family · 2023☆☆☆☆

My mom had to wait almost 30 minutes for someone to come take her to the restroom. My mom has fell and dislocated her hip here and no one seems to know how or care. I have voice my concerns to the social worker, DON, and nurse manager no one did anything.

Long-term resident's family · 2018☆☆☆☆

Rice is the opposite. Night and day difference! Most residents keep their doors open and the staff keep very close eyes on everyone in their care. The Administrators and staff truly CARE about my parents.
