What this means for your family

Pine Valley offers a clean, well-appointed environment with a strong rehabilitation team that has helped many residents recover. However, the facility suffers from significant communication gaps and inconsistent bedside care. We strongly advise families to maintain a daily presence or have a dedicated advocate to ensure their loved one's needs are met, especially during evenings and weekends.

Pine Valley Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing receives polarized feedback, with many families praising the cleanliness of the facility and the dedication of specific nursing and therapy staff. However, a significant number of reviewers report serious concerns regarding communication, understaffing, and neglectful care, particularly during off-hours and weekends. Families should carefully weigh the positive reports of rehab success against recurring complaints about unresponsive administration and poor bedside care.

Questions for Your Tour

  • 1Given that communication is a top priority for our family, what is the best way to ensure we can reach a nurse or social worker directly when we have questions about our loved one's care?
  • 2With the current staffing levels, what is your facility's protocol for ensuring timely responses to call bells, especially during evening or weekend shifts?
  • 3We noticed some concerns regarding medication management in the past; could you walk us through the current process for verifying that medications are administered accurately and on time?
  • 4How do you foster a culture of patience and compassion among your aides to ensure that every resident feels treated with dignity and respect during daily assistance?
  • 5Since therapy is a known strength here, how do you integrate physical and occupational therapy goals into the resident's daily routine to keep them active and engaged?
  • 6In the event of a medical change or emergency, what is your specific process for updating family members, and how quickly can we expect to be notified?

Rehab patient's family · 2022★★★★★

My grandmother has been in Pine Valley less than a week so far... The staff is uninformed about her condition, she was given wrong medication which led to her going in shock and she was even left in a hallway unsupervised after therapy.
