What this means for your family

This facility has a dedicated therapy and nursing team that many families appreciate for recovery. However, the recurring reports of poor communication and inconsistent medical oversight are concerning. We strongly advise families to visit in person during off-hours to observe staffing levels and to have a clear plan for how you will receive medical updates, as phone communication is a noted weakness.

Key Review Excerpts

My mom has Alzheimer’s and has been in the Caring Way wing of Indian River Center for almost 2 years... This place is immaculate. The meals the patients receive are also very good. The communication from her caregivers and is also excellent.

Memory care family member · 2024★★★★★

The admissions department receives bonuses for every bed it fills, regardless of whether the patient is a good fit. As a result, many patients are homeless, have addiction, or have severe issues — they have attacked other patients.

Concerned visitor · 2025☆☆☆☆

The first two days was a little confusing for mom and family; however by the third day we noticed how attentive the entire staff was.. She received excellent care by very kind employees - from the cleaning staff, CNAs, physical therapists, dietary folks, nurses and administrative personnel.
