What this means for your family

While Greenwood is frequently praised for its compassionate end-of-life and hospice care, families of rehab patients should be cautious. Multiple reviewers consistently report significant issues with night-shift staffing and responsiveness; we strongly recommend asking the administration specifically about their night-shift nurse-to-patient ratios and how they handle call-light response times during off-hours.

Greenwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center receives polarized feedback, with many families praising the compassionate end-of-life and long-term care, while rehab patients frequently report significant issues with responsiveness and basic care quality. Recurring complaints highlight a stark contrast between day and night shift performance, with several reports of neglect, poor communication, and inadequate staffing during off-hours. Families should be aware that while some staff are described as 'angels,' others are cited for unprofessionalism and slow response times.

Key Review Excerpts

The nurses and techs (CNAs) have gone above and beyond with taking care of my needs. I want them to all know that I truly appreciate them and I want to thank them for making me feel important.

Rehab patient · 2020★★★★★

My father in law was at Greenwood for end of life care. Best place ever. Staff was very caring and professional. If we ever need placement again, Greenwood would be our first and only choice.

Memory care family member · 2023☆☆☆☆

I was there 2 weeks. Most of the staff were nice, knowledgeable, and helpful when needed. Very loud many nights with patient's doors open and their TV volume all the way up. The meals were not chosen and brought to my room.

Greenwood Rehabilitation has 27 federal deficiencies across routine inspections, with recurring issues in care planning, safety protocols, and infection control appearing in all three surveys. While all violations have correction dates, the persistence of problems with resident assessments, accident prevention, and infection prevention across multiple years suggests ongoing operational challenges that families should discuss during visits.
