What this means for your family

Beaumont's memory care unit is highly regarded by families for its compassionate and supportive staff. However, because multiple reviewers have raised serious concerns regarding medical oversight, pressure ulcers, and communication, we strongly recommend that you personally monitor your loved one's skin integrity and medical charts regularly.

Key Review Excerpts

I am so happy that we made the decision to place him in the memory care unit. It took a couple of months but he has adjusted well. The staff has been great and tends to his needs and are always helpful with any concerns we may have.

Memory care family member · 2023★★★★★

My sister is a patient on the memory care unit. Dawn the nurse manager is extremely professional and a great problem solver . My sister is difficult , a crier and often rude to other patients . I am educated by dawn and staff to manage my visits and reactions to a person I no longer know.

Memory care family member · 2024★★★★★

My mother just left this facility. She has lost a considerable amount of weight, has 3 stage 1 pressure ulcers on her coccyx as well as her heels. The charge nurse Kim had no understanding of labs as she stated my mom had some "concerning results" and when asked to relay the results there was nothing concerning found.

This facility has ongoing challenges with food safety and quality of care, showing repeated deficiencies across multiple surveys from 2022 to 2024. Food handling and preparation issues appeared twice, and daily living assistance problems recurred over different inspection periods. One family complaint triggered a deficiency related to abuse prevention policies. While all issues were reportedly corrected, the pattern of recurring problems in basic care areas warrants careful consideration during any visit.
