What this means for your family

The Whitney Center offers a highly attractive, clean environment with robust activity programming that many families appreciate. However, because some reviewers have raised concerns about the experience level of nursing aides, we recommend you observe the floor during your tour and ask specifically about the training and supervision provided to the direct-care staff.

Key Review Excerpts

This place is beautiful & clean, does not resemble a nursing home at all! 99% of the staff is great although I do see some aides sitting doing nothing when they should b socializing n tending to the patients, that's my only complaint.

Long-term resident's family · 2018★★★★

You don't bring someone here that you love if you want them to be cared for properly. A lot if inexperienced aides that don't know what they are doing. The surroundings are clean and and decorated attractively and staff for the most part and friendly and caring.

Long-term resident's family · 2017★★☆☆☆

Modern, clean place. Safe, secure buildings. Smart, pleasant staff. Good food, events & activities.

10deficiencies
Near state avg (12.8)
2 complaint-triggered

Whitney Center has recurring issues across all three surveys, particularly with safety and accident prevention, resident care and treatment, and resident rights protections. Families have filed complaints that led to additional inspections, including concerns about safety hazards and care quality. While all deficiencies show correction dates from the facility, the persistence of similar problems across multiple years—especially around accident prevention and care planning—suggests ongoing operational challenges that families should discuss during facility visits.
