A relicensure survey was completed on 8/5/24. A deficiency was cited. Based on interview and record review, the residence failed to ensure there was at least one staff member onsite at all times who had current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and obstructed airway techniques from a nationally recognized CPR organization, affecting nine current residents. Findings include:Documented CPR certification for Staff #3 revealed a CPR completion date of 6/9/23. However, the certification was not from a nationally recognized organization.The staff schedule from 7/22/24 to 8/10/24 revealed the following shifts had no staff members onsite with current certification in CPR from a nationally recognized organization as follows:7/23/24 from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.7/27/24 from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.7/28/24 from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.7/30/24 from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.8/1/24 from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.8/2/24 from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.8/4/24 from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.8/5/24 from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.8/6/24 from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.8/9/24 from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.On 8/5/24 at 1:25 p.m., the administrator stated she was unaware that the CPR certification for Staff #3 was not issued from a nationally recognized organization. The administrator said she expected all staff to have a current and valid CPR certification.
