What this means for your family

Ossian Health Care offers excellent therapy services and a clean, engaging environment that many families appreciate. However, because multiple reviewers have raised concerns about staffing shortages and slow response times, we strongly recommend asking the administration about their current nurse-to-patient ratios and how they handle call-light response protocols during weekends and night shifts.

Ossian Health Care and Rehabilitation Center receives high praise for its therapy services, clean environment, and compassionate staff, with many families noting a warm, home-like atmosphere. However, there are serious concerns regarding staffing levels, specifically regarding slow response times to call lights and potential medication management errors. While many residents and families report excellent experiences, prospective families should be aware of these reported inconsistencies in care.

Memory care family member · 2025★★★★★

My dad was there for 4 weeks. It was one nightmare after another. One example is after turning on his call light to go to the restroom, It took 25 minutes for the call to be answered. We got the same excuse everyday that they were short staffed.

Long-term resident's family · 2024☆☆☆☆

We moved our dad from another Assisted Living facility to Ossian Health as we hoped for better outcomes with therapy. Ossian Health therapy exceeded all expectations and dad's health has really stabilized and improved.
