What this means for your family

This facility is highly regarded for its short-term rehabilitation therapy, which consistently receives praise for professionalism and effectiveness. However, families considering long-term placement should be aware of recurring reports of severe understaffing and hygiene concerns; we strongly recommend visiting during off-hours and asking specifically about the staff-to-resident ratio on the long-term care floors.

However, significant concerns persist regarding chronic understaffing, particularly in long-term care, leading to reports of delayed call-light responses, poor hygiene management, and inconsistent communication from management.

Key Review Excerpts

Husband was admitted two days ago for rehab after abdominal surgery to gain his strength back, THE THERAPY PEOPLE ARE FANTASTIC. The stnas are great, overworked though as they are short staffed, but they are attentive.

Rehab patient's family · 2025★★☆☆☆

The skilled part is good. The long term care is disturbingly understaffed. My girlfriends mom has been found, more often then not, in pants so filled with urine and feces, that it soaked her pants to the knees and half way up her back.

Long-term resident's family · 2025☆☆☆☆

My mom recently completed her stay at O'Neil Lakewood, and I can’t say enough about the kindness and care she received. From the moment she arrived, the staff made her feel safe, supported, and truly seen.
