A relicensure survey was completed on 11/8/23. Deficiencies were cited. Based on interview, observation and record review, the residence failed to ensure at least one staff member was onsite at all times who had current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and obstructed airway techniques from a nationally recognized organization, affecting five current residents. (Cross-Reference Q0732)Specifically, the residence failed to have at least one staff member onsite at all times who had current CPR certification from a nationally recognized organization for three current residents who requested CPR in the event of an emergency. Additionally, the residence has five residents who would require assistance with obstructed airway techniques in the event of an emergency. Staff were scheduled in 12-hour blocks from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., and 7:0.. Based on observation, record review and interviews, the residence failed to request, prior to staff hire, a name-based criminal history record check for each prospective staff member for one sample staff (#2), affecting five current residents.Findings include:1. References and Residence Policya. Chapter VII regulations governing assisted living residences, part 2.45, defines "Staff" as employees and contracted individuals intended to substitute for or supplement employees who provide personal services. "Staff" does not include individuals providing external services, as defined herein.b.
