What this means for your family

This facility is frequently praised for its compassionate nursing and effective rehab teams, making it a strong contender for clinical care. However, families should be vigilant regarding administrative matters; we strongly recommend getting all billing agreements in writing and checking in regularly on personal property to mitigate the concerns raised by other families.

Norwalk Nursing and Rehabilitation Center receives highly polarized feedback, with many reviewers praising the staff's compassion and dedication, while others report serious concerns regarding administrative transparency and resident care. Families should be aware of recurring complaints about billing inaccuracies and occasional lapses in basic hygiene or personal property security. While the facility is frequently lauded for its nursing and therapy teams, the administrative and billing departments appear to be a significant pain point for families.

Questions for Your Tour

  • 1Given that the facility has a smaller capacity of 45 residents, how does the team ensure consistent, personalized attention for each individual throughout the day?
  • 2I noticed some feedback regarding billing processes; could you walk me through how your administrative team handles statements and resolves any potential discrepancies for families?
  • 3With the current staffing levels, what specific systems are in place to ensure that residents receive timely assistance with daily needs and hygiene?
  • 4I’ve read great things about your rehab therapy programs; could you share how these are integrated into the daily routine for residents who are working on regaining their strength?
  • 5Since communication is such a high priority for our family, what is the best way for us to stay updated on our loved one’s health status and daily experiences?
  • 6How does your team handle medical emergencies or sudden changes in a resident's condition, especially during overnight hours?

Key Review Excerpts

The nurse crew went above and beyond when we needed anything or had questions. Rehab worked so hard with her and tried to push her to become stronger.

Family member of a resident · 2023★★★★★

My Dad was a patient there and went days without being dressed. While minimal, the clothes we brought for him were never used and billing issues we have raised continue to be an issue that has neither been resolved nor replied to after repeated attempts.

Long-term resident's family · 2021☆☆☆☆

The administrator and billing person however, are the soul reason for this negative review. I feel my blood pressure rise every time I deal with them. The billing statements you receive in the mail are NEVER accurate.
