The facility failed to ensure that the preparation and administration of medications were in accordance with orders by a licensed prescribing practitioner and facility policies. Specifically, insulin orders for diabetic residents were not reviewed properly to ensure correct administration and error prevention.

The facility failed to ensure medications were administered according to physician orders for one resident. Specifically, on August 16, 2024, a dose of Novolog was documented as held despite the resident's blood glucose level being above the required threshold of 150.

The facility failed to administer atorvastatin 10mg as ordered by a licensed prescribing practitioner for one resident. A review of the medication administration record showed no entries for this medication, and the medication was not available on hand during the survey.
