Friendship Village of South Hills presents a stark contrast between its well-regarded independent living community and its skilled nursing/rehab health center. While many residents and families praise the beautiful grounds, active social calendar, and friendly staff in independent living, the health center faces serious, recurring allegations of neglect, including poor communication, understaffing, and inadequate hygiene for vulnerable patients.

Key Review Excerpts

My parents bought into this community in 2018 for hundreds of thousands of dollars on the promise that they could stay there forever. Not so. My dad was one of the first residents of the memory care unit opened in 2019, and was kicked out in 2025 when he began to display unwanted dementia behaviors.

Memory care family member · 2026☆☆☆☆

My grandfather was a patient here and fell in this establishment 5 times…2 in one day…didn’t bathe him….and it almost costed him his life. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Rehab patient's family · 2025☆☆☆☆

The place is undergoing renovations. Patients are staying in rooms that are being painted, plastered, and ripped apart. It’s a dusty, unhealthy mess.
