What this means for your family

The facility appears to be undergoing a significant management transition, with many recent reviews highlighting improvements in culture and activity engagement. However, because serious reports of neglect and hygiene issues have appeared as recently as late 2025, we strongly advise families to conduct unannounced visits and specifically inspect the cleanliness of the resident's room and the responsiveness of the nursing staff during evening or weekend hours.

Cabarrus Health and Rehabilitation Center is currently experiencing a polarized reputation, with many recent reviews praising a significant turnaround under new leadership and a highly active, engaging activities department. However, these positive reports contrast sharply with serious, recurring allegations from other families regarding severe neglect, poor hygiene, and chronic understaffing. Families considering this facility should be aware of this inconsistency and conduct a thorough, unscheduled visit to verify current conditions.

Key Review Excerpts

Inside this building is a top notch team of Occupational and Physical Therapists that literally got me back on my feet in two weeks!

Rehab patient · 2026★★★★★

Upon entering the facility, you are greeted with a serious overwhelming smell of urine. The décor is depressing. The person I was there to visit shocked me when I saw her. She was in bed covered in vomit, soaked in urine, feces, and little black bugs.

Visitor · 2025☆☆☆☆

The staff is great, considering 99% of rehabilitation centers are under staffed and over worked. The facility could use some TLC from their corporate owners, but it's pretty clean considering.
