The Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home receives high praise for its nursing staff, rehabilitation services, and clean, welcoming environment. However, families should be aware of significant concerns regarding administrative communication and a major COVID-19 outbreak in 2020 that resulted in high mortality rates. While many reviewers highlight the 'Aloha spirit' and quality of care, administrative transparency remains a point of contention for some.

Key Review Excerpts

The nursing staff is great and caring. The food is good. Physical therapyist are good, know there jobs and listen to you However management to Physicl Therapy is another story. The biggest problem however is the administrative staff sucks!!

Long-term resident's family · 2019★★★☆☆

I found the staff extremely kind and generous. My Mother is here for a short stay while she relearns to basics after breaking her hip. Rehabilitation here is encouraging.

Rehab patient's family · 2019★★★★★
