Hale Anuenue Restorative Care receives high praise for its clean, well-maintained facility and generally friendly, compassionate staff who are often described as treating residents like family. However, there are serious, recurring concerns regarding staffing shortages, which have led to reports of delayed hygiene care and patient falls. Families considering this facility should weigh the positive environment and professional social work support against these significant reports of understaffing.

Key Review Excerpts

My mother was transferred to Hale Anuenue from Queens Hospital after she sustained a bad fall at home. She had been making progress in her recovery when she was released and allowed to transfer to a rehab facility. Under Hale Anuenue’s care she suffered multiple infections and developed a terrible bed sore.

Rehab patient's family · 2025☆☆☆☆

My friend is a resident there currently. She has not been given a shower in EIGHT DAYS. She is afraid to complain because she loves the nursing staff, but they are COMPLETELY UNDERSTAFFED and OVERWORKED.

Long-term resident's friend · 2020☆☆☆☆

My Dad almost reached 101 years old after 3 years at Hale Anuenue, during Covid and never got it. Because of the diligent staff and management, rules and regulations. Now my Mom is almost 101, after a year at Hale Anuenue.
