What this means for your family

Westminster Woods offers an exceptional lifestyle for independent living residents, with a beautiful campus and a vibrant social calendar. However, families seeking memory care or skilled nursing should exercise extreme caution; multiple reviewers have documented serious concerns regarding staffing levels and communication. We strongly recommend requesting a tour of the healthcare units specifically and speaking with current families of residents in those areas before committing.

Questions for Your Tour

  • 1Given the beautiful nature-focused campus here, what are some of the most popular outdoor activities or social events that residents participate in on a weekly basis?
  • 2I noticed you are very active in responding to feedback online; how do you typically keep families updated and involved when a resident has a medical incident or a fall?
  • 3With the memory care unit being a specialized area, could you walk me through your current staffing approach and how you ensure consistent, high-quality care for those residents?
  • 4How does your team coordinate medication management to ensure accuracy and timely administration for residents with complex health needs?
  • 5Since communication is so important to our family, what is the standard protocol for notifying us about changes in a resident's daily health status or care plan?
  • 6How do you maintain your high standards of care and resident engagement during shift changes or busier times of the day?

Key Review Excerpts

The longer I have been here (5+ years now) the more convinced I am that it was the right choice for me. There are certainly communities that are “fancier”, but they generally come with larger price tags.

Independent living resident · 2025★★★★★

Our mom was neglected. Plan and simple. She fell. The facility knew she fell. We were not notified. We found out when we picked her up for Thanksgiving. They refused to acknowledge anything.

Memory care family member · 2024☆☆☆☆

Moved my mother into the memory care, this was the worst experience of my life, I know they contributed greatly to her passing, she was over medicated from doctors on staff that never even saw her, fell out of bed a broke her shoulder, no one checked on her.
