What this means for your family

However, if you are considering this facility for short-term rehab, please be aware of recent reports regarding slow response times and communication issues; we recommend asking specifically about current nurse-to-patient ratios and the escalation process for care needs.

Key Review Excerpts

My mother has been in long-term care at RG for 7 years. She is 103 & still fairly sharp. Everyone there gives my mother loving attention. The staff stays in constant contact with me.

Long-term resident's family · 2025★★★★★

My mother moved to River Garden 3 weeks ago and we couldn’t be more pleased with the level of care she is receiving in the memory care unit. All of us, her 4 children, came from 3 different states to spend time with her over Mother’s Day weekend and without asking, River garden cleaned and reserved the gazebo over the water for us.

Memory care family member · 2025★★★★★

On the 6th day she called me six times. Not because she was lonely. Not because her ileostomy bag was leaking again and no one would come to her room, she was lying in her own waste. I started keeping her on the phone with me until the nurse would come in and it was 30 minutes to 45 minutes every time.

Clean record — no deficiencies

River Garden Hebrew Home shows a relatively clean inspection record with only 4 deficiencies across 2 surveys over three years, all corrected by the facility. The main recurring issue involves building safety with exit accessibility appearing in both surveys, alongside single instances of food safety and respiratory care concerns. While the repeat exit safety violation from 2021 to 2024 suggests ongoing facility maintenance challenges, the overall low deficiency count and absence of complaint-driven inspections indicate generally acceptable care standards.
