What this means for your family

This facility offers a modern environment and a highly effective rehab therapy team, making it a potential candidate for short-term recovery. However, the recurring reports of slow response times to call lights and difficulty with medication management are serious concerns. If you choose this facility, we strongly recommend frequent, unannounced visits and establishing a clear, direct line of communication with the nursing supervisor.

Google Reviews

Google Reviews

200 reviews on Google
Medilodge of West Bloomfield (formerly SKLD and Heartland) receives highly polarized feedback, with many families praising the physical facility and rehab therapy team while others report severe neglect and communication failures. While some reviewers describe a clean, hotel-like environment with attentive staff, a significant number of reports cite long wait times for call lights, medication errors, and difficulty reaching staff by phone. Families should be aware that experiences appear to vary drastically depending on the specific shift and individual staff members assigned to a patient.

Key Review Excerpts

The therapy staff was amazing to work with and helped me to get back on my feet literally. Special thanks to Luke and Osmha. Also special shout out to my nurses aids especially Chris who helped make the stay a lot easier.

Rehab patient · 2023★★★★★

My 5 star review is to recognize an outstanding Director of Nursing at this facility. Mattie Johnson has been a beacon of hope and help in some very rough times. The facility itself leaves a lot to be desired but I don't know how we would have managed without her help.

Family member · 2023★★★★★
