What this means for your family

While the facility's therapy department is highly praised, there are recurring, serious reports of neglect and staffing shortages that families must investigate. We strongly recommend conducting an unannounced visit during a weekend or evening shift to observe staffing levels and facility cleanliness firsthand before making a decision.

Google Reviews

Google Reviews

110 reviews analyzed
The Gardens at Stevens receives highly polarized reviews, with many recent 5-star ratings praising the staff's kindness and the quality of the therapy department. However, several families have reported critical failures in basic care, including reports of residents being left unassisted for days, poor facility hygiene, and slow response times to medical emergencies. Families should be aware of the significant disparity between the glowing praise for individual staff members and the serious allegations regarding neglect and facility maintenance.

Key Review Excerpts

The care he received there for the last few months of his life was amazing. The Gardens at Stevens is not fancy, but the caring he received from the nurses and the aides, made my role as his caregiver for many years so much easier.

Long-term resident's family · 2023★★★★★

My mother was placed here as they said they had a bed. From the minute she was it was clear that there were not enough staff. The facility smelled of urine. There was no natural light that she could see. She was left in her bed for 3 days as we were deceived and told PT would evaluate her one day and it was actually not until her 4th day.

Rehab patient's family · 2025☆☆☆☆

My mother was here in long term care for three months and slipped into a diabetic coma twice because the staff didn’t know or choose to administer basic first aid when warning signs happened, saw symptoms worsen and still refused to take action.
