What this means for your family

While some families report success with the rehabilitation therapy team, the facility has a recurring pattern of serious complaints regarding hygiene, neglect, and staff conduct. We strongly advise families to conduct unannounced visits at different times of the day and to specifically inspect the cleanliness of the resident's room and the responsiveness of staff to call lights before making a decision.

Diversicare of Oxford receives highly polarized feedback, with a significant number of reviewers reporting severe neglect, unsanitary conditions, and abusive behavior by staff. While some families praise the facility for its therapy team and friendly individual staff members, these positive experiences are frequently overshadowed by reports of patients being left in soiled conditions, missing personal belongings, and poor communication from management.

Key Review Excerpts

I waited for a nurse with my mom for two hours to help her when she soiled herself. And that's when I was there! I had a resident come to me and warn me how they treated my mother!

Family member · 2018☆☆☆☆

My Mother-in-law checked in for a simple rehab after a broken arm. Within 3 day of checking in her money was stolen, no rehab was done, and she was being regularly being abused and neglected by the nurses and aides.

Family member · 2022☆☆☆☆

I’m not giving them any stars because they don’t deserve them. It’s absolutely the most disgusting place for anyone. I took my Mother there for 21 day rehab and they mistreated her. She lay in pee and poop all night because nobody wanted to change her.

Diversicare of Oxford shows a pattern of corrected deficiencies across three surveys, with no family complaints filed. The most recurring issues involve care planning, fire safety systems, and medication management, appearing multiple times across different inspections. While the facility has addressed all identified problems with documented correction dates, the repeated deficiencies in care planning and safety systems suggest ongoing challenges with maintaining consistent standards between inspections.
