What this means for your family

While the rehabilitation therapy team is highly regarded and has helped many patients regain mobility, the facility suffers from chronic staffing shortages and communication failures. If you choose this facility, you must be prepared to visit daily to advocate for your loved one's basic needs, as response times for call bells and medication management are frequent points of failure.

Delmar Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing receives highly polarized feedback, with many families reporting severe neglect, understaffing, and poor communication, while some rehab patients praise the therapy department. While the physical and occupational therapy teams are frequently highlighted as a major strength, numerous reviewers express deep concern over unhygienic conditions, long response times for call bells, and unprofessional staff behavior. Families considering this facility should be aware of the consistent reports regarding the difficulty of reaching management and the facility's struggle to provide basic care during off-hours.

Key Review Excerpts

The Physical Therapy staff are great but other than that I would not ever send a loved one to this facility for care. Staff are constantly on cell phones and call lights are left unattended.

Family member · 2024★★★★★

My mother was placed here 5 days ago due to a stroke. I have been trying for 5 days to speak with someone to get an update on her condition with no luck.

Daughter of resident · 2021☆☆☆☆

The people make the place but the place needs some serious TLC. Of course there are a few on staff whose bedside manner is rough around the edges, but my family’s experience after a nearly two week rehab stay for my mom was super responsive and, well, rehabilitative!
