What this means for your family

While the facility was historically well-regarded for its cleanliness, recent reviews contain serious allegations regarding end-of-life care and dementia management. We strongly recommend that you schedule an unannounced visit and specifically ask the administration about their policies regarding 'comfort care' and how they honor resident code status requests.

Key Review Excerpts

Lights are off in the hallways where the folks with dementia are, and research is clear that makes dementia worse. When I commented on it, I was told they were sleeping (by the CM who didn't even ask the date and times,) and no they weren't. Its behavior management.

Memory care family member · 2025☆☆☆☆

If you don't want a choice of your loved ones care this is it. I would never recommend this horrible place to anyone. ... If the resident wants to be a full code this place will make sure they find a way to make them a do not resuscitate and make sure it’s quick by placing them on “Comfort Care”.

Long-term resident's family · 2026★★☆☆☆

Well below state avg (10.1)

Bethel Health Care Center shows a pattern of recurring fire safety and building maintenance issues across all three surveys, with the same deficiencies for fire alarm systems, sprinkler maintenance, and electrical equipment appearing multiple times from 2021 to 2024. While the facility has corrected each cited deficiency, the repeated violations suggest ongoing challenges with maintaining safety systems. Families should inquire about current fire safety protocols and building maintenance procedures during any visit.
