What this means for your family

Bermuda Village offers a high-quality environment for rehab and independent living, supported by a very professional real estate team. However, families should be aware of potential communication barriers; ensure you have a reliable direct line to nursing staff or a specific administrator before move-in, as some families have reported difficulty reaching the facility remotely.

Questions for Your Tour

  • 1I noticed that the facility is beautifully maintained; could you share how the team ensures that same level of attention and consistency for residents' daily care needs?
  • 2Given that staffing levels can fluctuate, what specific protocols are in place to ensure residents receive timely assistance when they press their call buttons?
  • 3I appreciate that you are active in responding to feedback online; how do you typically handle communication with families when a concern or a change in a resident's health status arises?
  • 4With the current staffing ratings, how does your team prioritize daily activities and social engagement to ensure residents stay active and connected?
  • 5Since you have a strong reputation for short-term rehabilitation, how is that medical expertise integrated into the daily care plans for long-term residents?

Key Review Excerpts

My geriatric father was in the rehabilitation part of this facility. It is a very beautiful setting and is kept clean (thanks to Pat!). For the most part, the care was really good.

Rehab patient's family · 2024★★★★

My grandmother was at Bermuda Village for short term rehab. She had such a great experience. She raved about how nice and accommodating the staff were. She loved the therapy group and was able to go back home in only a few weeks.

Rehab patient's family · 2024★★★★★

A very nice retirement community. A lot of people quit when new management came in. Some services have been cut back. My mother-in-law requested her bath be changed to a shower, which she was willing to pay for in her rental unit. This was months ago. Nothing has happened.

Bermuda Village shows recurring issues across three surveys in resident rights, electrical systems, and medication management, with one family complaint about unnecessary medications in 2023. The facility has persistent problems with generator backup power (cited in all three surveys) and fire safety systems, though all deficiencies show correction dates. While the facility addresses violations when cited, the pattern of repeat infractions in critical safety areas warrants careful consideration during your visit.
