What this means for your family

Belmont Bay is highly regarded for its clean, modern environment and strong therapy team, making it a viable option for short-term rehab. However, families should be aware of inconsistent nursing responsiveness and significant communication gaps; we recommend establishing a clear point of contact and visiting frequently to monitor care standards.

This facility rarely responds to reviews.

Questions for Your Tour

  • 1I noticed the facility has a very welcoming front desk team; how does that hospitality extend to ensuring families receive timely updates on their loved one's care?
  • 2Given the importance of nutrition for recovery, could you walk me through how you handle meal preferences and ensure residents are satisfied with their dining experience?
  • 3When a resident needs assistance, what is the standard protocol for responding to call bells, and how do you ensure that response times remain consistent throughout the day and night?
  • 4With 120 residents, what specific systems do you have in place to track and safeguard personal items like hearing aids and dentures to prevent them from being misplaced?
  • 5I see your team is active in responding to feedback online; what is the best way for family members to communicate directly with nursing staff if they have urgent questions about their loved one's health?
  • 6Since therapy is a known strength here, how do you integrate those physical and occupational therapy goals into the resident's daily routine outside of scheduled sessions?

Key Review Excerpts

The staff seems to be hit or miss. The food is awful and they got all these old folks with pleading eyes staring at me everytime I visit.

Long-term resident's family · 2025★★★☆☆

The nurse Anna was great but during her short stay and within a couple weeks they had lost her hearing aid for her cochlear implant and her bottom dentures. Communication was terrible unless you were there in person.

Long-term resident's family · 2025★★☆☆☆

I liked the place at first my loved one rapidly declined here. The staff is overwhelmed with patients, the lack of hygiene of my family member was not up to par at all!

This facility shows recurring concerns across multiple surveys, with 63 deficiencies spanning four key areas. Dietary and food service issues appear most frequently, including problems with food temperature, menu planning, and food safety protocols across three surveys. Care planning and resident assessment deficiencies also persist, along with ongoing resident rights violations and safety hazards. One family filed a complaint about accident prevention. While all violations show correction dates, the pattern of repeated issues in core care areas suggests potential quality concerns families should investigate during visits.
