What this means for your family

Westwood Specialty Care offers a strong rehabilitation program with dedicated therapy staff, making it a potential candidate for short-term recovery. However, families should be aware of significant reports regarding slow response times and weekend staffing shortages. We strongly recommend visiting during a weekend or evening to observe staffing levels firsthand before making a decision.

Westwood Specialty Care receives highly polarized feedback, with many families praising the dedicated therapy teams and recent facility improvements, while others report severe neglect and staffing shortages. While some residents thrive and appreciate the kind staff, multiple accounts describe long wait times for call lights, poor pain management, and inconsistent nursing care. Families should be aware that experiences appear to vary significantly depending on the specific department and staffing levels at the time of stay.

Key Review Excerpts

The PT/OT was excellent and my husband made such progress with them. Outstanding team that truly cares about each patient and has made a big impact on both my husband and myself.

Rehab patient's spouse · 2025★★★★★

The CNAs and Nursing staff are pleasant but are very understaffed. Call lights on for at least 30-45 minutes. Staff at the nurses station not answering call lights ringing right in front of them.

Long-term resident's family · 2022☆☆☆☆

I was in extreme pain the whole time and they wouldn't let me lay down very often. I was drug out of bed in the morning by my arm. I was pushed very hard by physical therapy to the point where I was not ready at all.
