What this means for your family

While the facility has made visible improvements to its environment and offers a well-regarded memory care unit, the recurring reports of communication breakdowns and clinical errors are significant. We strongly recommend that you visit in person, speak directly with the nursing director about their medication management protocols, and establish a clear communication plan with the administrative team before admission.

The Waters of Martinsville receives polarized feedback, with recent reviews highlighting significant building upgrades and a welcoming atmosphere, while older and some critical reviews raise serious concerns about clinical care and communication. Families frequently praise the facility's memory care unit and veteran programs, yet others report distressing incidents involving medication errors, poor wound care, and a lack of responsiveness to family concerns. Prospective families should weigh the positive reports of a clean, activity-filled environment against the recurring reports of administrative and clinical lapses.

Key Review Excerpts

I also noticed it actually smelt good when i walked into the building, Not like normal long term facilities that smell funky when you walk in.

Visitor · 2024★★★★

My husband's mother was placed in there to do therapy to try and get better, not come out of there with multiple bruises. Upon her stay, she had fallen several times not to mention she had bandages that were left on for 20 days not even being checked or removed.

Family member · 2023★★☆☆☆

I gave them a list of people who I didn’t want to know that I was there as a patient and didn’t want to see if they showed up less than a week later on Wednesday march 8th one was let in the front door BY STAFF and signed in about 1145 and they refused to make them leave.
