What this means for your family

While the facility is physically beautiful and offers engaging activities, the recurring reports of delayed call-bell responses and hygiene neglect are serious red flags. If you choose this facility, we strongly recommend frequent, unannounced visits and establishing a clear communication plan with the nursing management to ensure your loved one's basic needs are met consistently.

Thibodaux Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center receives polarized feedback, with many reviewers praising the modern, clean facility and friendly staff, while others report severe concerns regarding neglect and slow response times. Families frequently highlight the physical beauty of the building, but several accounts detail distressing experiences involving delayed call-bell responses, hygiene issues, and inadequate care for patients with mobility needs. Prospective families should weigh the positive environment against the recurring reports of staffing shortages and inconsistent patient oversight.

Key Review Excerpts

The aid that helped my mom move in was extremely rude and scared my mom during a critical time in her life. This was addressed when we complained which I was very satisfied with. However, the aides that needed to help my mom to get to the bathroom on a non-weight-bearing leg did not do their job.

Family member · 2024★★☆☆☆

Imagine the horror when they tell us they ring the bell and no one comes, or they come and ask “What you want?” 30-45 minutes later. There shouldn’t be fear connected to ringing for help.

Family member · 2023☆☆☆☆

I’m family has been in since Tuesday. She’s only been bath once on Saturday. Today it took over an hour to get her to the restroom after she went in a diaper and she was probably there longer. Lunch sitting out from 12:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

5 complaint-triggered

Thibodaux Healthcare has a concerning pattern with 19 deficiencies across six surveys, including five complaint-triggered issues where families reported problems. Primary concerns involve nutrition and dietary services (appearing multiple times), infection control, and resident safety. While all violations show correction dates, the recurring issues with food safety and the complaints about resident safety, abuse response, and family notification suggest ongoing operational challenges that families should investigate thoroughly before placement.
