What this means for your family

While the facility offers an unmatched physical environment and social calendar, the reports of medication management failures and hygiene issues are significant red flags. We strongly recommend that you tour the facility but also request a meeting with the current Wellness Director to discuss specific staffing ratios and their plan for addressing recent cleanliness complaints.

The Watermark at Brooklyn Heights is a visually stunning, luxury senior living facility that receives high praise for its hotel-like atmosphere, rooftop views, and active social calendar. While many families and visitors commend the friendly staff and high-quality amenities, several critical reviews raise serious concerns regarding medication management, understaffing, and hygiene issues. Families should weigh the impressive physical environment and programming against reports of inconsistent care and administrative turnover.

Key Review Excerpts

The Watermark at Brooklyn Heights is not prepared, trained, staffed or managed to my safety standards for our mother who lived there for 2 years... Behind closed doors they are incapable of medicine management.

Long-term resident's family · 2024☆☆☆☆

He does need his own companions as the hard working staff always seems to be stretched thin. Kellie is tremendous and does the work of several people. The Wellness Office has improved, but response time can be slow.

Resident's family · 2024

I was there as an EMT. I saw large cockroaches in my patient's room. After talking to the manager, it became clear that they knew about these 'water bugs' and most likely didn't care.
