What this means for your family

The Summit of Bettendorf offers a beautiful, modern environment that is highly rated for independent living and initial tours. However, families of those requiring skilled nursing or rehab should be cautious; multiple reviewers have reported significant issues with medication management and slow response times for basic assistance. We recommend asking specifically about current nurse-to-patient ratios and the process for medication administration during off-hours.

The Summit of Bettendorf is widely praised for its modern, clean, and beautiful physical campus, with many prospective residents and families highlighting a positive, informative tour experience. However, there is a significant disparity between the experiences of independent living residents and those requiring skilled nursing or rehab, with multiple reports of neglect, medication management failures, and slow response times for basic assistance.

Questions for Your Tour

  • 1I noticed you are very active in responding to online feedback; how do you use that family input to improve daily operations and care quality?
  • 2With a smaller capacity of 39 residents, how do you ensure that staff are consistently available to assist with immediate needs like toileting or mobility support throughout the day?
  • 3Could you walk me through your current process for medication management to ensure that prescriptions are tracked accurately and refilled on time?
  • 4Given the recent focus on staffing levels, what steps is the facility taking to maintain consistent coverage and reliable response times for residents?

Key Review Excerpts

I came 5 days Post surgery. Went to PT. NOT given my pain meds or my psyche.MEDS. Script ran out, NO ONE called in to refill...Was left on the toilet, It overflowed.

Rehab patient · 2024☆☆☆☆

Takes literally 30 to 90mins to get the patient to the restroom or off the toilet. Had to take our own meds because they would 'forget' to bring them. Waiting on food is ridiculous.

Long-term resident's family · 2025☆☆☆☆

I recently spent about 3 was at the summit rehab and have nothing but good thinks to say friendly staff ,excellent care , food was delicious got my meds on time and they answered my light very quickly.
