What this means for your family

The Oaks at Woodfield offers a vibrant social environment and effective therapy services that many families appreciate. However, due to recurring reports of slow response times and safety lapses during patient transfers, we strongly advise families to visit frequently and monitor care closely, especially during off-hours.

The Oaks at Woodfield receives high praise for its welcoming atmosphere, engaging activity programs, and dedicated nursing and therapy staff. However, several families have reported serious concerns regarding inconsistent response times to call buttons, lapses in basic hygiene, and potential safety risks during patient transfers. While many residents thrive in this environment, the quality of care appears to fluctuate, particularly regarding staffing levels and attention to individual medical needs.

Key Review Excerpts

She would push her call button and wait HOURS for someone to check on her. At one point, she pressed her call button to help her use the bathroom. Help didn’t come for about an hour and by that time, it was too late.

Rehab family member · 2023☆☆☆☆

My mother has been at the facility in Grand Blanc for 5 days. She is listed as a 2 person assist. In this short time, a staff member has tried to transfer her from the bed to the chair, chair to bed etc. as a 1 person assist.

Resident's family · 2025☆☆☆☆

The Oaks is hands down the BEST place in Genesee County for your elderly loved one. We had our grandma on both the Rehabilitation side and the Assisted Living side and do not have a single complaint.
