The Baptist Home at Brookmeade receives polarized feedback, with many families praising the compassionate and friendly nursing staff, while others report severe neglect and systemic understaffing. While some families feel their loved ones received excellent care, multiple reviewers highlight critical failures in basic hygiene, responsiveness to call buttons, and medical oversight. Key Review Excerpts

The PTs, OTs, and Speech staff were excellent! However, whether short staffed or not, no patient should have to wait more than an hour for assistance with the bathroom, and have to sit in soiled clothing.

Memory care family member · 2025★★★☆☆

The nurses, CNAs, Recreational therapists, housekeepers, occupational therapists, and physical therapists were all incredibly caring and attentive to residents needs. However, the facility itself was not well-maintained, and cleanliness was a significant concern.

Rehab patient · 2024☆☆☆☆

The care that my mother received at this facility was inadequate. She went there to build up her strength to allow her to fight her new cancer diagnosis. Isolating a person who has no infections for 5 days... and lack of staffing to assist her and not mobilizing her lead to her developing a deep vein thrombosis.

2 complaint-triggered

This facility has had families file complaints leading to deficiencies in 2024 related to care planning and treatment quality. The 12 deficiencies across three surveys primarily involved resident rights issues, safety concerns including building exits and fire doors, and daily care assistance. All deficiencies were reportedly corrected by the provider, though the recent complaint-triggered violations in March 2024 regarding comprehensive care planning warrant attention during any visit.
