What this means for your family
This facility is highly regarded by many families for its compassionate, family-like environment and active engagement with residents. However, because there are serious, recurring allegations regarding cleanliness and neglect, we strongly recommend conducting an unannounced visit during off-hours to observe staffing levels and sanitation firsthand.

Key Review Excerpts
“When my mom entered Skiatook nursing home Feb of 2020. She had dementia and I could no longer take care of her by myself. I had no clue on what to do or how to do it. Sherrie in the office told me what I needed to do and how. She was very helpful to me and my mom.”
“My mom was placed a month ago today. She has extreme special medical needs that requires 24/7 attention. They staff its EXTREMELY helpful. Starting with Melissa the administrator, the nurses, all the way to laundry, aids and volunteers.”
“The building may not be as fancy as newer ones but the care received there is truly a blessing. Thanks to everyone that works there.”

Skiatook Nursing Home has 18 deficiencies across four surveys, with two complaint-triggered investigations involving abuse protection and reporting failures. The main problem areas include resident assessment and care planning, safety hazards and emergency preparedness, and repeated issues with resident rights notifications. While all deficiencies show correction dates, the pattern of recurring problems and family complaints about abuse protection raises concerns about consistent quality oversight.
